Oregon Does it Again!
Published by
Had the pleasure of being part of a coverage team at the 2008 Oregon Twilight. Always an impressive high performance meet with a featured mile/1500, but this year was extra special when Duck Sophomore Andrew Wheating cemented his place in the ranks of Oregon history and now should officially no longer be "off the radar" with a national and collegiate leading 3:38 in the 1500 meters. We also saw a great effort at the World Junior mark for 800 meters by Boaz Lalang, coming up just short with an impressively run 1:45.1. Some great marks in the women's steeple and 5k as well as the 1500 where Lauren Fleshman turned in a 4:11 with Duck Sophomore in tow at 4:14 to move up on the Oregon all time list. In the field we saw some BIG action in the throws! A great womens Javelin competition with Kim Kreiner and Dana Pounds! Former Duck all-american Brittany Henry with a big PR to move up the years USA lists. Also look for BIG A.G. Kruger to hit the A standard in the Men's Hammer Throw! You just have to love Track and Field when it comes to Hayward!!! -Rossco-
